Any actuaries out there

Post  Admin on Fri Apr 04, 2008 6:22 am

I am an actuarial student working in worker's compensation insurance. I am getting ready to take exam 3, and just wondered if there are any other Mensan actuaries.

No but it is something I have thought seriously about as a career - I know that doesn't help you at all with your exam, but I do find it to be a fascinating job.

It really is an interesting job. Business and insurance would not have been my first choice, but with a math degree, actuarial work is definitely the best paycheck. The exams are the most difficult I have ever seen, but they are worth the work. You can't beat the career ladder either.

I just joined... and am an actuary, FCAS, experience in workers comp, other lines and am now working for a predictive analytics company. Not much time to write now but I'd be happy to help with any career questions... and talk about anything math...

I'm actually studying for the P1 right now...I guess its not too bad, I'm just kind of wondering who I should start talking to. I would love to see possible career options depending on which certification you have????
